You tell that ANON,we can switch places. I want to be an Urban Planner, and I'm going for grad school. If I could do it again, I don't think I would change, but I would have researched. I love being able to design and appreciated details, its a gift and a curse. BUT I'm business minded, that side is what attracts me to regional planning, specifically economics. I just wish urban planners were architects because they fight for money/economic stability. BUt not a well designed city always...

Thank you so much for your insight!

It is difficult for me to relay the scope of urban planners, as I have only had a few classes on urban planning/design, and cannot speak from that side of it.

It’s true- urban planners do take care of economics more than architects. Urban planners, for the most part, don’t do the details and more delicate design aspects of buildings.

Although, I do know that a lot of architects are on urban planning boards. To me, this is a nice compromise to choosing one or the other. The two professions are so close (yet so different!), one should not have to choose!
