Hi! I was wondering what are the different types of architecture you can go into? and is it hard to be successful after university, like finding a high paid job and position? Thanks!

As far as the different types of architecture, the possibilities are endless. I know people who work with Nike and BMW and are architects for them- who knew car and shoe companies needed architects! The film, advertising, and fashion industries also need architectural skills. It’s all a matter of what you want to do with your degree.

Do not think that you will find a “high paid job and position” after you graduate. You will not. Success is different for everyone. With the current worldwide economy, it is difficult to find a job anywhere, which is why people need to be creative and versatile. As such, the word “success” has to be redefined. Good architects do not define “success” by a high paying job or a position of status- they define it as how happy they are with their career.
